Methilhill Community Children's Initiative

Events & Fundraising

Children posing at a fashion showMCCI regularly hold community events.

The events could be to raise group funds, or just a fun event for our local families.

Fundraisers have included a Christmas Fayre, Clairvoyant night, Fashion Show and Showbiz Auction. Future events include a Christmas sing-a-long and a sponsored walk.

Fundraising is vital for our group and other fundraising ventures include a weekly bonus ball competition, the production of a children’s cookbook and a calendar and the use of fundraising tools such as Yellow Moon craft catalogues and Spree voucher books.

Thank you to everyone who has supported our fundraising and anyone interested in purchasing cookbooks, calendars, spree books or receiving a Yellow Moon catalogue can do so by contacting us via the email on the contact us page, or by popping into the Clubs on a Friday evening.

As well as fundraising, we like to thank our local families for their support by organising family events. During the summer we were able to provide family cooking activities and a Summer Fayre including bouncy castles, magic show, balloon modelling, and a visit from George and Peppa Pig!

Our Christmas party and mini fayre were a great success with party hosts Fife Youth Radio providing entertainment while Fife Animal Park escorted a very special guest to the party on his sleigh, pulled by his reindeer.

2014 was an eventful fundraising year with MCCI being chosen by Asda Glenrothes as a nominated community life group, and plans for another clairvoyant night, bag packing, a sponsored walk, coffee evening and a family ceilidh.

2015 saw another wonderful sponsored walk along Leven beach towards Lundin Links completed by the children, plus the community has enjoyed a very busy Garden Open Day, with over 200 local people coming along to see what goes on 'behind the gate!' Later in the year we will be hosting another psychic night, a talent show with family night, a Halloween Spooktacular and a Christmas party for all our fantastic children, young people and their families.

Events during 2016 included a Community Garden open day, Halloween Spooktacular, Methilhill Primary School Christmas Fayre, Christmas workshops, group triathlon, mini spartan walk and family night, and talent show.
